The housing market is on the mend and it is partly because of a housing stimulus package that is being offered by the government. This package is meant to encourage those people that are wanting to buy a home to take that leap and do it now. The housing market works with a domino effect. Once it starts to move it will move on it’s own it just needed a push. The government is hoping by offering a $8,000 tax credit to first time home buyers as well as those potential buyers who have not owned for three years the housing market will begin to flow again. Realizing there is another market of home buyers that have been left out in the stimulus package that will provide vital buying power for the program the government reacted. They reacted by extending that program to people that have owned and lived in their home for the past 8 years consecutively. These individuals may qualify for a $6,500 tax credit. These two demographics of individuals may be what it takes to get the housing ball rolling the right direction. Working together we can heal the economy and the housing market can lead the way.
