We so count on our internet to provide us with information and in some cases comfort. On the first night of our stay in our new home I was called out of town. This left my wife and children staying in a home that was out in the middle of no where by themselves. To get to our new home you travel down a long dirt road that can be intimidating if you are moving from the city. We knew this was the home we had always wanted and it is located in the perfect place everything had just not yet been finished. As I left the house I took the only car we had at the time and we did not have a phone yet, either. They were literally cut off from everything except for the internet. I wish it could have been satelite high speed internet. The night I was gone a terrible storm came over our area (of course). My wife was uneasy, although for the kids she pretended not to be but I know her voice, but my kids were scared. They could see animals outside as the lightening would give the woods a vivid flash. My wife said this is like we are at the zoo, trying to make them associate something positive to the experience, but my son quickly responded with “I don’t want to live at the zoo!” They all felt comfort with our internet connection so we could make jokes about the storm and it’s sounds. Then the unthinkable happened and we lost internet connection. I worried about them until I got home late the next day. I have always enjoyed having the internet but I found a new respect for how important it can be from another prospective. I am so glad there is a company that is providing high speed internet for those of us living a little further out then others!
